About the scholarship

The Beus Family Scholarship provides financial support to incoming first-year students who are attending Barrett, The Honors College at ASU and who are active members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

This four-year scholarship is automatically renewed if the required criteria are met each academic year. The award amount is $5,000, which is split evenly between the fall and spring semesters.

Applicants must have been admitted to Barrett, The Honors College at one of Arizona State University’s four campuses: Tempe, West, Polytechnic or Downtown Phoenix.

Eligibility requirements

  • Minimum GPA of 3.0.
  • Arizona resident.
  • First-year student.

Selection criteria

Selection is based on superior academic qualifications exhibited by class rank, test scores or enrollment in academic enrichment programs or university-accredited courses
and independent study or research; leadership; and substantive service to the community.

Students must include two letters of recommendation:

  • From a seminary teacher, stake president or bishop who can attest to your activity in the church.
  • From a teacher or community leader.
